Voter Guide 2015: District 6

Situated along the Delaware River, the 6th District encompasses 15 communities straddling Burlington and Camden counties: Berlin Township, Cherry Hill, Collingswood, Gibbsboro, Haddon, Haddonfield, Hi-Nella, Maple Shade, Merchantville, Oaklyn, Pennsauken, Somerdale, Stratford, Tavistock and Voorhees.

This has been a solidly Democratic district, with 39 percent registering with the “blue” party while 15 percent are registered Republicans. The rest are not affiliated with any party.

This is one of the rare districts with a total of six candidates for Assembly.

Both Democratic incumbents are running again. Assemblyman Louis D. Greenwald, an attorney who lives in Voorhees, is currently the majority leader; he is finishing his 20th year in the lower house. Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt of Cherry Hill, the general manager for conference and dining services at the University of Pennsylvania, is completing her fifth Assembly term.

The Republican hopefuls are Holly Tate of Stratford and Claire H. Gustafson of Collingswood, who got on the ballot at the 11th hour to fill a vacancy.

Rounding out the field is a Green Party ticket of James Bracciante and Amanda Davis, both of Collingswood.
