Keeping Track of Christie's Trips, Treks, and Travels

After winning reelection to a second term as governor, Chris Christie was named chairman of the Republican Governors Association and embarked on a year of campaigning and fundraising for Republicans across the nation, among other travels. He spent roughly a third of 2014 out of state. All that was part of a strategy to boost his chances in this year's presidential election. Last year, the governor spent more time out of state than in: 261 days or more than 7 of every 10. With presidential primary voting imminent, the governor spent just one week in state in January 2016.
