Hours After Exxon Settlement, Chris Christie Attends Secretive Event Hosted By Exxon-Funded Group

On Thursday, Gov. Chris Christie’s administration announced it was settling New Jersey’s $8.9 billion lawsuit against ExxonMobil for just $225 million. Just hours later, amid outraged calls for a federal probe of the deal as far too lenient, Christie attended a secretive conference in Georgia organized by an think tank that has been funded by ExxonMobil.

Christie officials give $82 million subsidy to NBA team whose execs made big campaign contributions


Gov. Chris Christie’s administration yesterday announced an $82 million taxpayer subsidy for a practice facility for the Philadelphia 76ers in impoverished Camden, New Jersey. The move comes weeks after Christie pled poverty to justify reneging on actuarially required pension payments. It also comes a few years after Christie officials pled poverty to justify huge cuts to police funding in crime-ridden Camden. And, as Pando has now learned, the grant follows the NBA team’s investors making major campaign contributions – some to Christie’s reelection campaign and some to the Republican Governors Association (RGA), which is run by Christie and has financially supported his gubernatorial campaigns.

Christie Slams Effort To Boost Voter Turnout For 2014 Election As Democratic 'Trick'

During a campaign stop in Illinois on Tuesday, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie decried efforts to simplify voter registration. He suggested that the higher voter turnout produced by such efforts is harmful to Republican candidates, and that Illinois' new same-day voter registration statute is a Democratic "trick."
