Podcast: High-Stakes Testing Pressures Schools More Than Students

It's the adults in charge of testing, not the kids, who have failed so dismally -- according to WHYY/NewsWorks' editor.

As New Jersey moves into student-testing season, an increasing -- but still small --number of parents have said they would withhold their children from the annual exams out of protest over the rising reliance of testing in schools.

Chris Satullo, editor of WHYY/NewsWorks, a NJ Spotlight partner, shares his opinion on what could be an incipient protest movement as it starts to come into focus across the region.

It's worth noting that the parental protests come at the same time that a cheating scandal has erupted in Atlanta, with investigations also underway in Philadelphia and a number of New Jersey districts.
