What does it take to qualify as the poorest city in the United States, which is how Camden is often characterized? A median household income of $27,027, according to the calculations conducted by the New Jersey Department of Labor, using the five-year estimates prepared by American Community Survey in 2010 (the most recent data available).

Camden County, however, is another matter. The department pegs the median household income of Haddonfield Boro at $112,105, while Tavistock Boro holds the top spot at $250,000+

The average median household income for all of Camden County is $60,976
