167,000

Just when utility companies brought the number of New Jersey customers without power down to less than 225,000 a new Nor’easter knocked power from an additional 167,000, according to Gov. Chris Christie.

Most of the power outages are in areas served by Jersey Central Power & Light, which still had 25 percent of its customers without power Thursday. Atlantic City Electric had restored 100 percent, but Wednesday night’s storm knocked out the power of five percent of its customers. PSEG and Rockland Electric have both restored 95 percent of their customers.
