The second quarter of this year saw the Garden State with nearly 24 percent of the solar industry nationwide, according to a new report by SEIA, the Solar Energy Industries Association, and GTM Research, a division of Greentech Media. New Jersey, along with California (30 percent), had 54 percent of the market in total.

The reason for the dominance, as noted in the report, has nothing to do with the residential market. Indeed, New Jersey became No. 1 in the country for commercial installation of solar.
