New Jersey’s unemployment rate for April 2010 was 9.8 percent, the same as it was in March, according to the U.S Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics. This represents 490,000 people on the state unemployment rolls. Although these statistics represent a very slight dip in the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 10 percent in December 2009, they also show a jump in unemployment from last April’s 8.9 percent.
