At 14.5 cents per gallon, New Jersey’s gas tax is the 47th lowest in the nation behind only Wyoming, Georgia and Alaska. Indeed, New Jersey’s neighbors not only have higher gas taxes, they are significantly higher. New York’s, at 44.6 cents per gallon, is the most expensive in the country. Pennsylvania ranks 10th with a gas tax of 32.3 cents, and Delaware levies 23 cents.
